The following paragraphs are actual profiles written by the people that conforms Softtek. Although they wrote these profiles with the original intent to share their experience internally with their peers, we want to give you a glimpse of the spirit of our people in their own words.

"Who am I? Well, I've been working in Softtek more than a year and it has been such a great experience working here. I came for a project to automate testing, later on I moved on to a project for a client in the Nuclear Energy Industry performing automated test using WinRunner tool, where I highly increase my skills to perform automated test. So far my experience with automation tools get summarized with SilkTest from Segue, Robot from Rational and WinRunner from Mercury, also some other tools like TestDirector, Rational ClearQuest and SilkPerformer for example.

Then, I worked for a client that develops CRM Software in a project testing CRM applications, but specifically in an internal project. Here, we worked with a Cognos third party tool (ReportNet) testing a Packaged Reports, validating that all specifications made by Design team were correctly implemented in the Reports and assuring that this didn't affect functionality or security. Data model was validated to assure the integrity.

Now I'm working at a project for a Leading Storage and Information Management Solutions Provider, a new challenge to be accomplished. We have different Suites of testing like Stress, Functionality, DataIntegrity, CrossFunctionality, etc. and these suites are executed either manually or automated but due to the quantity of test cases related to each suite automation is becoming a "must" and currently we are working to automate all our Test Cases for each Application as a process improvement to make more efficient our test.

In order to accomplish this task we are using Perl as programming language, Rational Clear Case as a repository of documents and Rational TestManager as a management tool to execute the scripts and keep track of our test execution. Why Perl? The business of our Client is a very critical business because it is related on how to store huge quantity of information and assure the data integrity, just imagine clients like some Federal Banks where information is critical at every single point.

Karla 06/2005 "These eight years of experience in Softtek has been gratifying. I started in Y2K projects and my initial years were in Mainframe platform. My first challenge was to work in Oracle Database giving me the opportunity to learn. I also built confidence working in directly with the customer.

My career in Testing begun with an Oracle project; continuing with a Testing WEB project for a Fortune 10 company. My current testing assignment involves a migration of Vitria versions. Vitria is an Enterprise Application Integration System EAI. This is a great challenge for me due to it involves different platforms (WEB, Mainframe, SQL Server, Vitria, Sybase). This represents a more complex way to do manual testing for all transactions going from one system and publishing into another system. Not only managing the complexity of the integration system but also managing a testing team remotely that is working onsite. I am currently working from Monterrey. I am also maintaining constant communication with the customer via telephone and conference calls. This is also helping me to improve my English confidence and communication skills. All this has represented a huge growth in my career path.

My reward is that Softtek is gaining more and more projects together with our partner (a big global consulting firm) due to are good performance in the testing project. This is causing the client to give us more applications like the current augmentation of the Mainframe team."

"There's not much I can tell about my experience in Softtek since I've been here for less than a year. I started on a Softtek program called Testing Academy in Mexico City, at the end I received an offer to start as a tester, so I changed my residence from Mexico City to Monterrey. I was assigned to a testing project for a leading global financial institution.

Last year's fall I was assigned to a SOX testing project for the client in Des Moines, Iowa. The project ended successfully, I earned confidence from the people in the client, my leaders in Softtek, but the most important thing was the confidence that I won in my self. Now, I'm back in Des Moines with a new project and with the challenge of repeating what happened last year's fall. Sure it won't be easy but I know I can make it."
