Softtek Appoints New Head of Communications and Technology Sector

MONTERREY, Mexico – July 14, 2014 – Softtek, founder of the nearshore industry and a leading global IT services provider dedicated to maximizing the value of applications, announced today the incorporation of David Olivencia, who joins the company as Senior Vice President of Communications and Technology, The focus of his role is to further accelerate the business results delivered to Softtek’s valued customers in the telecom sector. Prior to joining Softtek, David held the position of Director of IT Strategy & Planning for Verizon, where he led a team focused on leveraging IT to enable Verizon's business imperatives.

David brings a strong background in international business strategy and information technology, holding prominent IT leadership roles in organizations that include Verizon, Oracle, Ford, NTT, and Accenture. He joins the Softtek US leadership team, and is based out of Chicago, IL. His incorporation to the firm comes at a time in which Softtek continues to strengthen its industry focus, provide solutions that drive efficiencies, and help customers transform into digital business.

He was recognized as one of the Most Influential Hispanics in America by Hispanic Business Magazine and by Crain’s Detroit Business’ “40 under 40.” David is a dynamic speaker on technology’s impact on businesses and corporate governance and has shared his insights in prominent forums, including the U.S. Congress, NASDAQ Opening Bell, NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors), NASA, Business Week, and Comcast Newsmakers, among others. He also serves on the Board of Notre Dame’s Mendoza School of Business, where he earned his MBA.
