Softtek Named Leader of South of the Border on “Global Services 100”

The company also listed among top 10 Best Performing IT Services Providers

Monterrey, Mexico – February 4, 2008 – Softtek, the global provider of IT and business process solutions and the largest private service provider in Latin America, announced today that it has retained its title as the Leader, South of the Border for the third year in a row on the 2008 Global Services 100 list. The company also secured a top 10 spot in the Best Performing IT Services Providers category. The Global Services 100, now in its fourth year, is designed to help buyers of business and technology services identify the world’s leading IT and business process outsourcing (BPO) service providers.

“As the creator and visionary of the Near Shore® Industry, we are very proud that we continue to be recognized as the best Latin America-based IT services provider,” said Blanca Treviño, President and CEO of Softtek. “Our berth into the top 10 Best Performing IT Service Providers proves the success of our Global Nearshore™ model that combines outstanding customer service with a robust network of global resources.”

Global Services pointed to the acquisition of China-based I.T. UNITED as one of Softtek’s biggest achievements in 2007. The acquisition added an eighth Global Delivery Center (GDC) in Beijing and offices in Shanghai, Xiamen, and Xi’an. Continuing its growth in Asia, Softtek plans to expand its service to the domestic Chinese market in 2008 and add another GDC in China in the next 12 to 18 months. Global Services identified Softtek’s aggressive Asia strategy as the key differentiator from other Latin American players, most of whom focus on serving nearshore American customers.

“The Global Services 100 list, brought out by Global Services and neoIT, has grown to be a highly credible listing of global IT services and BPO companies. The list helps service buyers leapfrog the request-for-information stage and the category winners almost always make it to the RFP stage in a service deal. That’s the unique advantage a Global Services 100 company enjoys,” says Ed Nair, Editor, Global Services.

This recognition reinforces the strong reputation Softtek has built in the industry through its Global Nearshore™ model, which pairs world-class execution with global proximity to fill the gap left by India-centric outsourcing models. Softtek currently operates a network of eight GDCs in Mexico, Brazil, Spain, and China.

CyberMedia’s Global Services survey is in its fourth year of recognizing the world’s leading IT and BPO service providers in ten different categories, including technology, customer service, business process, and global regions. The top 100 list and category rankings were based on a scientific methodology created by Global Services and neoIT, which considered size, customers, skills, and other factors on a weighted scoring schematic.

2008 Global Services 100

The Global Services 100, now in its fourth year, is a tool for buyers of business and technology services. Judges from Global Services magazine team up with outsourcing experts at neoIT, a consulting firm that specializes in services globalization, to identify and evaluate the leading service providers located on four continents. The evaluation is based upon data provided by the service providers and third parties regarding effective operations, service offerings, client relationships and human capital. Winners are selected in each of 10 categories including servicedelivery areas such as IT services, customer care and business process outsourcing. Winners are also selected in regions such as Eastern Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Global Services and neoIT will present the awards to category winners at the 2008 Global Services Conference being held on March 12th, 2008 at Marriott Marquis, Times Square , New York, U.S.A.
