Softtek Starts Construction of the 3rd Building within its Global Delivery Center in Aguascalientes, Mexico

State Governor Carlos Lozano de la Torre presides groundbreaking ceremony. The center is a $6M USD investment, creating 900 new jobs

AGUASCALIENTES, Mexico – July 11, 2012 – Softtek, founder of the nearshore industry and leading global IT services provider dedicated to maximizing the value of applications, held its groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the third building for its Global Delivery Center (GDC) located in Aguascalientes, Mexico.  The new facility will bring 900 new jobs for IT professionals.

“We are very proud to continue to grow in Aguascalientes, and we strongly believe that by working together—with the government, private initiative and universities—we will create development  hubs, which in turn will become virtuous circles that generate prosperity for the community,” commented Blanca Treviño, president and CEO of Softtek.  “We would like to recognize the government and the people of Aguascalientes for their support, their human quality and their talent that has allowed us to exceed our objectives we set when we came to the city.”

From the center, Softtek’s clients will receive high value-added IT services that will allow for running, growing and transforming their business. Through Softtek’s Global Nearshore™ model, which combines robust quality models with world-class standards, the company achieves high productivity levels that translate to benefits for clients.

“Aguascalientes is the most important development center within the company, with 1,600 active associates today. We hope to grow by more than 50% upon the opening of the new building,” highlighted Ricardo Rodríguez Contreras, director of Physical Infrastructure for Softtek.

Sixty-five percent of Softtek’s associates at the Aguascalientes office are natives of the state, while the remaining 35% are from other states in Mexico and from other countries.

Softtek started operations in Aguascalientes in the year 2003. The new facility will be built on a plot of 209,896 square feet and will include three areas dedicated to software development, two training rooms, two storage areas, in addition to an area for business services.

During the ceremony, Mr. Carlos Lozano de la Torre, Governor of the State of Aguascalientes, laid the first brick, in the presence of various officials, clients and friends of the company, as well as representatives from the state government.
