Softtek to Open First Center of Excellence for Enterprise Mobility Services in Beijing, China

Center to serve the growing need for enterprise mobility solutions in Asia

BEIJING, China – April 8, 2013 – Softtek, founder of the nearshore industry and leading global IT services provider dedicated to maximizing the value of applications, announced today that it will transform its Beijing-based IT capabilities into an Enterprise Mobility-specific Center of Excellence (CoE) dedicated to serve the Asian market.

According to the research study “Our Mobile Planet,” commissioned by Google, Asian countries are leading in terms of market penetration and usage of smartphones. In Singapore, Japan and South Korea, over 75% of people between the ages of 15 and 64 use smartphones. China, moreover, is the fastest-growing smartphone market in the world – representing huge potential for mobile apps. Today, the country has nearly 300 million smartphone users.

“Enterprise mobility is booming. As consumers adopt these technologies, the way they interact with friends, family, colleagues and employers has changed,” said Blanca Treviño, President & CEO of Softtek, who is currently in China participating in the Mexican delegation, headed by Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, at the Boao Forum for Asia.

Treviño continued, “Organizations must embrace this new way of connecting with employees, customers, and partners. We think that mobile apps should not be looked at as an isolated area, but as an integral part of modern, multi-channel application portfolio strategy— totally aligned with an enterprise strategy.”

Through its acquisition of China based I.T. UNITED in 2007, Softtek added an interactive design studio called Infinity 360. The studio has designed and developed mobile solutions and creative digital marketing for several global entities in China including: General Motors, a leading German maker of automobiles, a Swiss multinational producer of consumer goods, a leading international media company, and the world’s largest independent wildlife conservation organization. The studio has also completed work for domestic entities like the Beijing United Family Hospitals and the Beijing Government.

“Enterprise mobility services require a blend of user experience and design capabilities, as well as strong technical development skills that are supported by robust services and process governance,” said Bo Song, General Manager for Softtek in China. “Infinity 360’s skill-set is a perfect complement to the robust application lifecycle services and IT service governance of Softtek.”

This is the first Enterprise Mobility CoE for Softtek. From here, the company will offer enterprise and digital marketing solutions in major mobile computing platforms, including iOs and Android. The model will be replicated for other markets in the future.
