Softtek CEO in WITI Women in Tech Hall of Fame

Blanca Treviño is the first Mexican woman to receive the merit

DALLAS – May 14, 2019 – Softtek, a global company dedicated to helping organizations evolve through digital technology, announced today that its President and CEO, Blanca Treviño, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame for the WITI (Women in Technology International), the leading advocate for innovation, inclusivity and STEAM. The induction ceremony will take place at WITI’s annual Women in Technology Summit on June 10, San Jose, CA.

Treviño is among the five women to be recognized for outstanding contributions in technology and innovation that have had an impact in society and businesses. She joins four other 2019 distinguished inductees, which include: Heather Hinton, Ph.D., vice president & distinguished engineer, IBM; Julia Liuson, corporate vice president, Developer Tools, Microsoft; Sara Rushinek, Ph.D., professor, Business Technology & Health Informatics, University of Miami; and Natalia Trayanova, Ph.D., professor, Biomedical Engineering & Medicine, Johns Hopkins University.

“I am humbled to be recognized by WITI, and greatly admire their mission to empower women around the world to aim higher in the tech sector,” said Treviño.  “We [Softtek] have been involved in promoting the transformative influence of technology for more than three decades, and I am still amazed today by the incredible shift, the magnitude of its impact and its potential to bridge the gender gap.”

Softtek was founded in 1982 among a small group of entrepreneurs in Monterrey, Mexico. Today, under Treviño’s leadership, the company has more than 12,000 employees with 30 offices in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Treviño was the first woman to be inducted into the International Association of Outsourcing Hall of Fame and is the first female to be part of the Mexico Business Council, (established in 1962, formerly the “Mexican Council of Businessmen”). CNN en Español, Forbes and Fortune Magazine have recognized Treviño as one of the most powerful women in Mexico. She served as a member of the World Economic Forum B20 Task Force on ICT and Innovation and is an active board member of Walmart Mexico, Grupo Lala and The Mexican Stock Exchange, along with several organizations and universities.

“We launched the Women in Technology Hall of Fame in 1996 - at a time when there were no platforms showcasing the contributions of women in technology,” said Carolyn Leighton, CEO and founder, WITI. “Since then, more than 100 exceptional women have been selected for this award. These Women in Technology Hall of Fame inductees inspire future generations to reach higher, push boundaries, and create breakthroughs that will positively impact our future.”
