28 January, 2019 – The UTE formed by Scytl, a leading Spanish company in electoral technology, and Vector ITC, a Spanish 100% capital technology and digital group, has been awarded the contract for the provision of the services necessary to carry out the count election results and their dissemination, on the occasion of the Local Elections and the European Parliament of 26 May 2019.

Vector and Scytl combined their strengths and capabilities in a UTE to submit a strong bid, and have been successful in the next election project, which will be supported by ODEC, which has extensive and proven experience in this category.

“At Vector we are very proud to receive this award, as it allows us to put all our expertise at the service of processes of both the process and the counting of election results,” says Carlos Delgado Suárez, CEO of Vector ITC. “Vector’s experience of all these years working to drive the digital transformation of companies and agencies will be the perfect ally for the project to be a success. Of course, being able to work with Scytl will guarantee that,” he adds.

“After the successful 2015 General Election, Scytl is very pleased to be able to renew its collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior for this year’s local and European elections,”says Klaus Thalmann, Scytl’s Director for Europe. “Our extensive experience in international election process management combined with state-of-the-art technology backed by auditors and academic experts and a vector-caliber partner will enable us to tackle this new project of scrutiny and dissemination of results.”

Spanish Proposal 100%

In the offer presented, Scytl brings its cutting-edge technology, and extensive electoral experience in Spain and more than 40 countries, while Vector, for its part, brings technological, infrastructure and security leadership, and its great capacity to offer services, logistics, support and training throughout the national territory. Due to the scale of this project, the consortium formed by Scytl-Vector will work with other market-leading suppliers to meet the needs where these third-party companies provide maximum value.

The UTE adds more than 17 years of electoral experience to support the Ministry of the Interior in the execution of these upcoming elections in a safe, transparent and effective manner, ensuring the rapid collection, processing and dissemination of election results. In addition, the UTE SCYTL-VECTOR is also approved to be eligible for the award of the next electoral election elections at the state level, for a period of four years
